Service 11 · Social media marketing

Show up daily on the platforms your customers already open.

Social media is the channel every stakeholder checks first and judges hardest, and also the one most commonly run without a plan, a post here, a boosted reel there, no consistent voice or schedule. The account looks active in bursts and then goes quiet for a fortnight, which is worse for trust than posting less often but reliably.

In short

Organic social done properly is a daily discipline: a content calendar tied to what your audience actually wants from the platform, a consistent posting rhythm, a real person answering comments and messages, and a clear read on which content is actually building an audience rather than just filling a grid.

Selected work

02

Work we are happy to put our name on.

A small, real portfolio rather than a wall of borrowed logos. Websites, short form video and campaign design produced for clients who are still running the work today.

01

Choosing platforms deliberately

Not every brand needs every platform, and spreading a small content team across five channels usually produces five mediocre feeds instead of two strong ones. We start by identifying where your actual customers spend attention and what they expect from a brand there, Instagram for visual product and lifestyle brands, LinkedIn for B2B and founder led credibility, YouTube where longer explanation earns trust, and decide deliberately which platforms earn a dedicated content plan and which get a lighter presence.

The decision gets revisited periodically as platforms and audiences shift, but it is made once at the start rather than reactively adding a new platform every time a client asks whether they should be on it.

Platform strategy
Which channels earn a full content plan and which get maintenance level presence, and why.
Content calendar
A planned monthly schedule mixing formats, not a scramble the night before posting.
Community management
Comments and direct messages answered same day, in your brand voice.
Paid amplification
Boosting the organic content that is already working, coordinated with the wider media plan.
02

A calendar built around formats that actually work

We plan a monthly mix rather than posting whatever is easiest that day: short form video for reach, carousels and static posts for saved and shared content, and behind the scenes or founder led posts for the trust building that pure product content cannot do on its own. Each post type is assigned a purpose, awareness, engagement or direct response, so the feed does not become a wall of identical product shots.

Every piece of planned content still gets checked against what is happening in the news cycle and inside the business that week, a genuinely timely post usually outperforms a scheduled one, and a rigid calendar that ignores real events reads as tone deaf.

03

Community management is half the job

A comment or a direct message ignored for three days tells a prospective customer more about your business than the post itself. We answer comments and messages the same day, escalate anything that needs a real decision, sales enquiry, complaint, partnership pitch, to the right person on your team quickly, and keep a documented response style so answers stay consistent even across a busy week.

This is also where a lot of genuine customer insight surfaces, recurring questions, objections and complaints in the comments are often more honest than anything a formal survey collects. We feed that back into the content plan and, where relevant, into the wider marketing strategy.

04

Working with paid media, not replacing it

Organic social builds audience and trust, and it does that slowly. Where speed matters, we identify organic posts that are already resonating and put a modest paid budget behind them to extend reach, which consistently outperforms creating content purely for an ad brief. Where DG5 also runs performance ads, this coordination happens inside one plan rather than as two teams working from separate calendars.

We are direct with clients who expect organic reach alone to replace a media budget. Algorithms on every major platform have made unpaid reach to new audiences genuinely difficult, and a realistic strategy plans for that rather than promising virality as the default outcome.

05

Reporting that reflects what actually matters

Vanity metrics, likes and follower counts alone, get a mention but not top billing. The report leads with reach and engagement rate by content type, growth in genuinely relevant followers rather than raw count, click through to the site or store where relevant, and direct enquiries or sales that came through comments, messages or bio links.

We also report honestly on what did not work. A content format that underperforms for two consecutive months gets retired or reworked rather than kept on the calendar out of habit, and we would rather tell a client a format is not earning its place than keep producing it to fill the schedule.

Questions

What clients ask before signing.

Which platforms should our brand actually be on?

+

It depends on where your customers pay attention and what they expect from a brand there. We assess this at the start rather than assuming every platform deserves equal investment, and will recommend a lighter presence on channels that are not worth a full content plan for your business.

How often should we post?

+

Consistency matters more than raw frequency. We set a rhythm your content team can actually sustain, daily on primary platforms is common, and would rather agree a realistic schedule than promise a pace that collapses after a month.

Do you handle comments and messages, or just posting?

+

Community management is included, comments and direct messages are answered same day in your brand voice, with anything requiring a business decision escalated to your team quickly.

Can you grow our follower count?

+

We prioritise reach, engagement and relevant audience growth over raw follower count, because a large but disengaged following does not help a business. Genuine growth follows from content and community management done consistently over months.

Do you also run paid social ads?

+

This service covers organic content and community management. Paid social campaigns sit under our performance ads service, and the two are coordinated closely when a client runs both with us.

What happens if a post gets a negative reaction?

+

We follow a documented escalation protocol, assessing whether it is a legitimate concern needing a real response or something better left unamplified, and involve your team immediately for anything sensitive.

Can you work with our existing in house social media person?

+

Yes, we often support an in house team with strategy, content production capacity or platform expertise rather than replacing the person who already knows the brand and community.
